Man stabbed for rebuking brother

BEKASI (JP): A man was rushed to the hospital on Tuesday after being stabbed by his brother who was angry at being reproached for being drunk.

Bekasi General Hospital identified the victim as 31-year-old Uma Syarifuddin, a resident of Perum Harapan Jaya, South Bekasi.

Uma's wife Yanti Dahlia said at the hospital emergency room that her husband had been concerned about his two younger brothers, Dedi, 28, and Nano, 26, who had been frequently found drunk.

"At about 7:30 a.m. Uma told both his younger brothers not to drink liquor anymore. But all of a sudden, Dedi, who refused to accept Uma's counsel, rushed to the kitchen and grabbed a knife and chased Uma," Yanti said.
