Man shot by gang of thieves in Bogor

BOGOR (JP): A 48-year-old man named Iyung Suherman suffered gun shot wounds to his feet when an armed gang tried to ransack his car repair shop on Jl. Roda in Babakan Pasar subdistrict, Central Bogor, late on Tuesday.

Iyung told media at the Salak Hospital on Wednesday that he saw a group of four men messing around a Great Corolla sedan belonging to a customer at about 10 p.m. Tuesday.

"I was just about to enter the shop when I saw them 'working' around my customer's car. I went and got a club and faced the gang," he said.

"One of the robbers shouted 'Give me the key' and I started to swing my stick and chased them away. That was when they pulled out their guns and fired at me," Iyung said.

The attackers fled the scene and Iyung fell down on the lot with gunshot wounds in both legs.

"Thank God the bullet went through. If not, I might have lost my feet," he said, adding that the case has been reported to the Bogor Tengah Police subprecinct. (21/edt)
