Man robbed off Rp 65 million
YOGYAKARTA: Two robbers got away with Rp 65 million (about US$30,000) yesterday.
The victim was a Bank Rakyat Indonesia employee who was carrying the cash from another bank, police said.
The robbery happened at 8 a.m. when the employee got off a taxi and had his bag snatched by a robber who was armed with a sickle.
The victim sustained a cut on his hand after he tried to pull back the money when the robber was rushing to a waiting accomplice on a motor bike, Antara reported.
Police said no one took note of the bike's plate number. They called on the public to ask the police for escort when drawing a large sum of money from the bank. (pan)
