Man nabbed for raping daughters

JAKARTA (JP): North Jakarta police detectives have arrested a
man for the rape of his three daughters, aged six, 19, and 21, at
his residence in the Cilincing area.

North Jakarta police chief of detectives Capt. Eko Indra Heri
said on Saturday that the arrest was made on Wednesday evening,
hours after the suspect's two elder daughters lodged a complaint
against their father at the police station.

"We're proud of these young girls, who had the courage to make
out a police report against their father. We assured them that
their identities will remain a secret," Eko said.

Eko identified the father only as Hsb, 41, who reportedly
confessed to the police that he had raped his daughters because
he was bored with his wife.

"The suspect told us during questioning that he had been
raping the two elder daughters, since they were in
kindergarten ... and that he had just started with the six-year-
old," the officer said.

Eko added that the suspect's elder daughters finally made out
the police complaint, when they found their youngest sister
complaining of severe pain in her genitalia.

"The sisters went to consult with their uncle, who immediately
informed the girls' mother. The shocked mother reportedly gave
them birth control pills, to stop anymore bad things from
happening to the girls," Eko said.

It remained unclear whether the police would also question the
man's wife. (ylt)
