Man nabbed for burning PKB flag

SURABAYA: Police arrested Tikno, a resident of Pakis subdistrict here on Saturday for burning flags belonging to the National Awakening Party (PKB) early in the day.

The incident took place in front of a mosque in Simokerto area when several security guards of PKB were preparing for a rally at Pancasila Sports Hall. Tikno, who was drunk, asked for a T-shirt, but was rejected.

Upset, Tikno then burned the green flags and fled before police nabbed him at his house.

A local PKB official, Salman, said he would leave the case to the police and called on party supporters not to take revenge, saying that Tikno was not aware of what he was doing. -- JP
