Man murdered in morgue

MADIUN, East Java: A prisoner was beaten to death last week by a fellow inmate after a practical joke backfired.

Prison officials said the incident occurred last Wednesday when the victim, Sadikin, 19, and the accused, Busano, 25, were working in the morgue.

It appeared Sadikin ran out of the morgue, locking Busano inside as a joke. Sadikin released Busano after he screamed and repeatedly kicked the door.

Wielding a peace of wood, Busano knocked Sadikin unconscious. He died in hospital, Antara reported.

Busano was serving a six year term for murder and Sadikin five months for theft. (pan)
