Man killed over rooster
JAKARTA (JP): City police spokesman Lt. Col. Zainuri Lubis said on Wednesday an East Jakarta resident was mobbed to death over a stolen rooster.
"Imagine, a man dead over a rooster," Zainuri said.
Zainuri said the victim, identified as Ardiansyah, 23, a laborer and resident of Petukangan village, Cakung subdistrict, apparently stole the rooster from 19-year-old Wadrag, a resident of Jl. Pendidikan, Duren Sawit subdistrict, at about 4:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
"Ardiansyah mistakenly thought Wadrag was sleeping," Zainuri said.
"Wadrag screamed, 'Thief, Thief' and Ardiansyah was killed by local residents who immediately rushed out of their houses and beat Ardiansyah to death," Zainuri said.
