Man killed in his cottage

BOGOR (JP): A man identified as Soleh Amir, 47, was found dead here on Monday in the attic of his cottage in Sukamanah village, Cisaat subdistrict, Sukabumi, a hospital staffer said.

PMI Hospital morgue employee, Sabar, said Soleh had suffered a heavy blow to his chest and head and probably died four days prior to the time his family found his body early on Monday morning.

"The family were set to join him on holiday at the cabin. But when they got there, nobody answered the door. Everything was intact so they became suspicious and called the neighborhood chief to check the house," a source said.

There was a putrid smell when the family searched the cottage, which lead them to Soleh's body.

Preliminary reports indicate that Soleh was possibly murdered due to a personal grudge.

"It's impossible to conclude that he was killed in an attempted robbery because all of his belongings, such as his car, were still in place," the source added. (21/edt)
