Man jailed for e-mailing porn photos

SINGAPORE: A man who e-mailed pictures of himself and a former girlfriend having sex to her friends, relatives and lecturers was sentenced to four years in jail, a report said Saturday.

The man, 20, suspected the woman was seeing someone else and used her e-mail account to send 15 photographs, the Straits Times said.

The man pleaded guilty to five charges of committing computer crimes, shooting obscene pictures to distribute them and possessing obscene films.

He was sentenced to four years and three months in jail by a district court Friday, the report said.

"It is hardly an exaggeration to say that her life has been virtually ruined," Deputy Public Prosecutor Terence Tay told the court.

"In all likelihood, the embarrassment caused is not over but is being propagated on the Internet as we speak." The court ordered that the couple not be named. --AFP
