Man found dead in rented house

TANGERANG: A man was found dead on Thursday evening with a
knife lodged in his neck at a rented house in the Poris Gaga area
in Batu Ceper.

Batu Ceper Police chief Insp. Cecep Subagya said on Friday the
man was identified as Maryanto, 43. Based on information from his
roommate Haris, Maryanto had arrived from Purbalingga, Central
Java, a day earlier to look for a job.

Haris said he advised Maryanto to start looking for a job on
Thursday morning but he refused, saying he felt dizzy.

"I left him home alone," Haris said.

When Haris returned home that evening, the house was dark and
no one answered when he knocked on the door. He broke into the
house and found Maryanto on the floor with the knife in his neck.

"We are still investigating if the victim was murdered or
committed suicide," Cecep said. -- JP
