Man falls overboard in Kupang
KUPANG, East Nusa Tenggara: One man fell overboard from the KM Dobonsolo on Wednesday, causing the luxury liner of state-owned shipping company Pelni to arrive two hours behind schedule in the Kupang port.
Antara quoted Mukni of the company as saying that the unidentified man was still missing. "The ship returned and circled the spot where the man fell for two hours, but failed to find him," he said.
The ship was en route from Surabaya to Benoa in Bali, but Mukni could not say the exact location of the accident, nor whether there would be a further search-and-rescue effort.
Witnesses said that the man fell off the ship while attempting to retrieve his fallen hat.
Meanwhile, a woman named Imaroh told Antara that her younger brother, Muhammad Yasin, was supposed to have boarded Dobonsolo but had not arrived. (swe)
