Man could get 20 years for trafficking

BOGOR: A prosecutor asked the Bogor District Court Thursday to sentence a man to 20 years in jail for trafficking five kilograms of marijuana.

Prosecutor Laode also demanded that the court impose a Rp 1 million fine on defendant Ady Junaedy, 32, who had acted as a middleman in the drug trafficking operation.

Junaedy was arrested on Aug. 27 at a public telephone kiosk on at the Indraprasta housing complex on Jl. Bantarjati in the district of North Bogor, where he was supposed to hand over the marijuana to Zaldi, who is still at large.

The police confiscated 5 kilograms of marijuana and Rp 3 million from the defendant. --JP
