Man commits suicide in bathroom

TANGERANG: Distressed due to being jobless, 35-year-old Suganda, a resident of Bojong Poncol village in Kunciran subdistrict, Tangerang municipality, hanged himself in his bathroom late Monday evening.

His elder brother, Hendra, said Suganda would frequently drink with his friends and would easily become aggressive without provocation.

He said his brother came home drunk at about 10 p.m. on Monday, and broke into a rage, threatening his mother with a machete.

"We rushed into the bedrooms and left him alone in the living room. Suganda then went to the bathroom and locked the door from the inside.

"By midnight, he had not come out so I decided to break the door down after knocking several times. I found him there already dead, hanging from the bathroom door' frame," Hendra said, while adding that his brother had tried to commit suicide last month, but the family members managed to prevent him from doing so. --JP
