Man bashed to death at airport

TANGERANG (JP): An employee of a courier firm was allegedly bashed to death by a group of men in the cargo compound of Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Wednesday, police said.

The chief of the airport's police subprecinct, Capt. Silitonga, said the victim's ribs were broken and bruises covered some parts of his body.

"We're still collecting evidence and information for our investigation."

Silitonga said the victim was identified as Yono, 30, of Cengkareng in West Jakarta.

It remains unclear where the body was found and who found it.

The victim's wife, who was questioned by police yesterday, was unable to help police trace the suspects because she was still in shock. (41/04)
