Man arrested for random shootings

INDONESIA: Police revealed Saturday they had arrested a suspect in last month's shooting on Jl. Juanda III, Central Jakarta, which claimed three lives and injured two passersby.

City police chief of detectives Sr. Comr. Andi Chaeruddin said the police arrested Dias alias Dwi early Saturday morning at his house in Bogor.

"Our investigation and his arrest lead to the conclusion that the Juanda incident is linked to armed bank robberies here," said Andi although he failed to say which bank was the supposed target.

The police were hunting down five other suspects involved in the incident, including the group leader, known only by the initials TY.

At Dwi's house, police confiscated a .32 caliber FN pistol, a .38 caliber Colt and 300 bullets. --JP
