Mall raises funds for tsunami victims

JAKARTA: Mal Taman Anggrek in West Jakarta in cooperation with
the Singapore Indonesia Business Association is holding a Sharity
Fair from Jan. 18 through Feb. 13.

The fair is offering various products, accessories and food to
celebrate Chinese New Year, or locally known as Imlek, which
falls on Feb. 9.

"A part of the money earned from the fair will be donated to
the tsunami victims of Aceh and North Sumatra," the mall operator
said in a statement on Thursday.

The mall has also extended its opening hours until Feb. 8 for
late shoppers.

The traditional dragon dance, or barongsai, will highlight the
New Year celebration in the mall. -- JP
