Malaysians detained in Pontianak

PONTIANAK, West Kalimantan: Pontianak Police are detaining a Malaysian citizen on drug charges, and three others for immigration offenses.

Lai Yun Kha, 25, was allegedly caught consuming drugs when he along with the four other Malaysians were staying in a hotel in the city. The three others were found to have committed immigration violations while a five Malaysian was later released without charge.

The police seized a package of shabu-shabu, two packages of dried marijuana, several ecstasy pills and two hand-made firearms with several rounds of ammunition.

Lai Yun Kha admitted to the police that he had purchased the drugs at the Entikong border crossing with Malaysia's Kucing.

Jon Tong Kian, Tsan Song Yong and Ong See were arrested for having no visas to stay in Indonesia. -- Antara
