Malaysian writers join cultural camp

PEKANBARU, Riau: Forty-nine Malaysian writers will attend
early next month a cultural camp on Rupat Island, Antara reported
Saturday.

The activity is being organized by local writers.

Committee chairman Yusmar Yusuf said the program was to
promote the island which is in the Bengkalis regency -- just
opposite the Malaysian peninsula.

On the island, "the writers will produce short stories and
poems about the island which will later be published," said
