Malaria in Kulon Progo

Many residents in the Kulon Progo region in Yogyakarta are
suffering from malaria, but until now there has not been any
serious effort from the local authorities. The condition is
critical, particularly in the Banjarsari subdistrict.

Many inhabitants of one home have gone under treatment, some
homes have even seen two or three of their members being treated
at the same time; some of those who have been released from
hospital then somehow were sick again. Several have died;
residents have tried to clean their surroundings to no avail.

We really hope that the head of the Samigaluh district and the
Yogyakarta authorities pay attention to this problem to prevent
even more victims.
