Malang to host jet ski c'ship

JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Jet Sports Association is to hold
the seventh leg of the National Jetski Championships at the
Selorejo dam, Malang, East Java, on Nov. 2 and Nov. 3.

Kiki P, chairman of the organizing committee, told Antara that
the Rp 30 million (US$12,700) event will feature individual and
team competitions in several divisions, ranging from 785cc to
1,200cc.

The association applies the United States-based International
Jet Sports and Boating Association's rules because Indonesia does
not have such a body to govern the sport.

The National Sports Council suggested the association
affiliate with the National Power Boating Association if it wants
to make an appearance at the National Games. (yan)
