Makbul takes over as chief of BNN

JAKARTA: National Police chief Da'i Bachtiar officially
installed Insp. Gen. Makbul Padmanagara as chief of the National
Narcotics Body (BNN) on Tuesday, replacing Comr. Gen. Togar
Sianiapar, who is retiring.

The installation ceremony took place at the National Police
Headquarters and was attended by high-ranking police officers.

Makbul, formerly the Jakarta Police chief, will be promoted to
commissioner general, the second highest rank in the police
