Makassar bomb suspects to stand trial
MAKASSAR, South Sulawesi: The trials of six suspects in the Makassar bomb blasts that killed three people will begin in the Makassar District Court on June 9.
The six, of 13 suspects facing terrorism charges, were named as Suryadi Anthon Labasse, Haerul alias Matto, Ilham Riyadi, Muhammad Tang bin Buhaera and Masnur.
The court has established five panels of judges to try the suspects.
The suspects were held responsible for attacks on a McDonalds fast food outlet and a car salesroom on Dec. 5, 2002.
Government prosecutor Hamzah Tadja said the remaining dossiers would be submitted to the court next week. --Antara
