'Love spells don't last forever'

It sounds unbelievable. But for some modern people, mysticism plays a role in their life. Others, however, would frown upon the idea of visiting a psychic or someone practicing mysticism.

Roy S., 19, is a student of a private university in West Jakarta. He once used the services of a psychic to attract a woman to become his girlfriend:

At first, I didn't trust psychics. You know, I had no idea about mysticism as I grew up in the city and had a modern upbringing.

It's different now because I believe some psychics have mystical abilities.

My first experience with a psychic was last year. I was terribly brokenhearted because a woman, who was five years older than me, rejected me. I couldn't do anything but just felt pained. I didn't go to school for about one month.

A friend of mine took me to a psychic in Banten, who gave me a spell to attract her. Within two months, she became my girlfriend. I was so happy.

Unfortunately, the charm worked for less than a year. She later dumped me, but I could accept it.

However, I don't think I would do it again to attract a woman because an artificial relationship like that is empty. Eh, but I would probably consult a psychic if I really was in love with a woman who rejected my love.

Dwiana, 27, is an employee of a private company in Cilandak area, South Jakarta. She lives in Simprug area, Central Jakarta in a rented house with some friends:

I think I believe that psychics and mystical things exist. But I have never used their services. So far, I've been able to solve my problems in a modern way.

I read my horoscope every week. I usually read the forecast on love and finance. Sometimes the prediction comes true, sometimes it does not.

Actually, I only believe in predictions which tell of my future good luck, I won't read anything that tells of bad luck. I don't want to make myself worry because of it.

Budi Darmawan, 28, is an elementary school teacher in Ciputat area, South Jakarta. He lives in Cilandak area, also in South Jakarta with his family:

So far, I don't believe in mysticism, psychics and such things. It's only nonsense. Perhaps, people who believe in mysticism will hate me for that ... ha..ha..ha.

It is possible that certain people can communicate with invisible creatures. But I don't think they are powerful enough to make our business or life better just like that.

I don't trust them because I once visited a shaman to cure a stomachache. His spell didn't work for me, apparently. But a friend of mine felt better after following his advice.

Perhaps, it has something to do with your mind. If you believe in the psychic then his spell will work for you.
