'Love Indonesian food' campaign
From Sinar Pagi
The 'Love Indonesian food' campaign (ACMI) should be intensified until it becomes a grassroots movement. No less than the Minister of Food/Chairman of the Logistics Board has appealed that heads of government institutions provide traditional food for important occasions. Also, hotel proprietors are called on to serve Indonesian food.
ACMI seeks to ensure that tempe or soybean cake is not driven away by hamburger as a result of globalization. Imported foods are not necessarily more nutritious than traditional foods.
Therefore, the second long-term development plan should give proper attention to the importance of traditional food.
