Lontar Foundation launches new book

The Lontar Foundation, in cooperation with Alumni Majalah
Tempo, will launch a new book by Goenawan Mohamad in the Ruang
Pamer Utama (the main exhibit room) of the Taman Ismail Marzuki
arts center on Sunday at 7 p.m.

The book titled Sidelines: Thought Pieces from Tempo Magazine
is a collection of essays by Mohamad's column Catatan Pinggir of
the defunct Tempo magazine.

The book, translated by Jennifer Lindsay, an expert on
Indonesian art and culture, was also launched during the Writers'
Week in Melbourne, Australia, last month.

Noted scholars Toety Heraty and Nurcholish Madjid are
scheduled to give opening remarks at the launching ceremony.
