Lonsum builds new CPO plant

JAKARTA (JP): Publicly listed plantation firm PT London Sumatra Indonesia (Lonsum) has set up a crude palm oil (CPO) plant in Musi Rawas, South Sumatra, with an initial processing capacity of 30 tons per hour.

Company director M. Akib said that processing capacity was expected to increase to 60 tons per hour in the next few years as the company increased production of oil palm kernel.

The CPO plant, which will be inaugurated by South Sumatra province Governor H. Rosihan Arsyad later next week, was developed to support the company's 32-hectare oil palm plantation in Musi Rawas. (aly)
