Lone gets results from Tarra

SYDNEY (Reuter): Lone Star Exploration NL said yesterday it had significant gold and base metal results from its Tarra prospect north of the Awak Mas deposit in Indonesia.

"A total of 96 continuous five metre composite channel samples were collected which defined a significant west-north-westerly gold anomaly," Lone Star said. "This sampling returned continuous mineralization along a 480 metre strike length at an average grade of 2.68 g/t gold."

The company said early indications showed the mineralization was polymetallic, including significant base metal values. "Costeans suggest that the width of the zone is between 50 and 60 metres, but the true width of the mineralization is presently unknown," Lone Star said.

The Tarra prospect, which is wholly owned by Lone Star, will now become a priority target for Lone Star ahead of other targets announced earlier this week -- Ulusalu, Tarra South Lematik, Katapu and Kandeapi, the company said.

Awak Mas has an estimated resource of 35 million tons of ore grading 1.7 grams of gold per ton for 1.95 million contained ounces.
