LNG plant design

Referring to your article on Feb. 11, 2000 entitled Pertamina picks Chiyoda, Betchtel designs for plant, there is misleading information quoted by your writer which has caused us to receive a claim from our client.

As we were never contacted by The Jakarta Post to confirm the content of the article prior to publication and we understand that you have quoted the information from other sources such as Upstream, we request the opportunity to present the necessary corrections to benefit the Post's readers.

The incorrect information you have quoted is as follows:

"Documents obtained by The Jakarta Post reveal Chiyoda- Mitsubishi proposed ... 'a front end engineering design (FEED)' -- based on Shell's air product and chemicals international (APCI) technology..."

The fact is that Propane Pre-Cooled -- C3/MR process technology was invented and developed by Air Products and Chemicals Inc., and it is used by the world's major producers to process more than 90 percent of the world's supply of LNG.

Therefore, the article should have quoted the following: "Chiyoda-Mitsubishi proposed a design based on Air Products and Chemicals Inc's (APCI) Propane Pre-Cooled--C3/MR Technology."
