Live grenade found on vacant lot

BEKASI: While inspecting on his idle plot of land in Aren Jaya, Bekasi Timur, on Sunday afternoon, Aris Suyudi found a live grenade dating from World War II.

Aris reported the discovery to the Bekasi Police and the Jakarta Police bomb squad later searched the area but found no other munitions.

A preliminary check revealed the hand grenade was made in England in 1942. -- JP
