Lippo Life's profits soar

JAKARTA (JP): Lippo Life, a publicly-listed life insurance
company, reported over the weekend a 365 percent increase in its
profits in the first semester of this year, to Rp 9.75 billion,
over the same period for last year.

"In the first half of 1995, the company's total assets
increased by 197 percent, to Rp 562 billion, from the same period
last year, while its total investments rose 211 percent, to Rp
509 billion, and its reserve 150 percent to Rp 407 billion," the
company stated on Saturday.

Lippo Life, established in 1984, and listed on the domestic
capital market in 1989, has developed a branches network
throughout the country.(kod)
