Lippo Bank launches youth website

Lippo Bank launched a website on Friday for building communication with its young adult customers through www.kartuguebanget.com (KGB).

The website consists of various features offering free games, money prizes, online clubbing, as well as information on pop bands.

KGB features several zones for young adults such as Indie Band Zone, Club Zone, Game Zone and Wacky Ideas. All these features were created to encouraged young adults to be more creative, said the bank.

"We hope this website will promote LippoBank MTV Card among young people from the age of 15 to 25," the bank's assistant vice president for consumer banking Hartaty Makmur told a press conference during the launch of the website.

"LippoBank MTV Card is eligible for customers with the first minimum deposit of Rp 250,000 (US$27.30)," she said.

Although the website was launched on Friday, it has already been in operation for six months, with 2,888 members in Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Sulawesi.

Lippo Bank estimated in its press release that its unaudited net profit last year reached around Rp 893 billion due to cost- cutting measures. This year, the bank will focus on increasing lending by between 35 percent and 50 percent to small- and medium-sized retailers. (004)
