Lion Air and safety
I am shocked by the answer of Lion Airlines (The Jakarta Post, Sept. 27) regarding the malfunctioning door which had to be closed by people inside and outside the plane.
It shows the wanton disregard for safety. Lion should not have allowed it to happen. What if the door fell off during flight? Lion said the authorities approved this? If this is correct, the Minister of Transportation should be hauled before the House of Representatives. If incorrect, then Lion has to issue an apology.
It is not enough that some defective equipment is "within safety limits". There must be no defect.
Jimmy Turangan had a point last month. Passengers should insist on meeting the president director of Lion, who seems to be perpetually absent.
