Life is beautiful

During a long holiday, I had time to look over old things that I have been keeping a long while. The first thing I came across was a collection of pictures from newspaper clippings I have kept in a box. I have had this habit for the past ten years of my life.

So far I cannot figure out the reason why I have been doing this. I simply felt I wanted to and loved doing it, but not sure for what purpose.

Among my collection were pictures of kittens, a scene at the North Pole, Leonardo da Vinci's Lady with Ermine, a snapshot of clouds resembling a flying angel and Michelangelo's Gift of Life... what a strange collection!

I need those pictures to remind me that "life is beautiful". We've seen a lot of things in life; some happy, some sad. I think about our country's present condition when hardship grips parts of our country, such as the turbulence in Aceh, Ambon and Kalimantan.

But God has many ways to remind us of His precious gift that life is beautiful and life is worth living.
