LG to increase price of monitors

JAKARTA: South Korean electronics maker PT LG Electronics Indonesia will raise the price of its cathode ray tube (CRT) monitor products by up to 5 percent in the very near future, the company said in a release.

LG general manager Sung Khiun said the hike in the monitor price was due to the rising price of CDT or cathode data tubes, a key component, amid strong demand and limited supply.

"CDTs account for 70 percent of monitor production cost," Sung Khiun said in the release. -- JP
