LG launches mobile service

JAKARTA (JP): Electronics manufacturer LG Electronics Indonesia, a subsidiary of the South Korean firm LG Electronics, launched on Tuesday mobile after-sales service for its customers in Jakarta and surrounding areas.

Company president In Ki Kim said in a statement that under the so-called LG Mobile Speed Service (LG MOBISS) program, the company would send its technicians to fix broken LG electronic products at the customer's home.

The technicians will come in a MOBISS vehicle equipped with all the tools required to repair the customer's LG product.

Kim said the company had prepared two MOBISS vehicles worth a total of Rp 1 billion (about US$121,000) which will cover the areas of Pondok Indah, Cilandak, Blok M, Kuningan, Tomang, Slipi, Kelapa Gading, Kemayoran, Cikupa, Cimone, Karawaci and Serpong.

"In the coming phases, we shall gradually expand the service to all of the areas covered by the LG marketing network," Kim said.

Kim added that the new after-sales program was launched to support its existing service centers, stations and points following a rise in its domestic sales. (jsk)
