HONG KONG: Taiwan's Rene Liu (photo position) won the best actress award and Hong Kong's Tony Leung Chiu-wai (photo position) was named best actor at Hong Kong's 10th Golden Bauhinia Awards.

The best film prize went to the comedy Kung Fu Hustle, which also won the best-supporting actor award. Yuen Wah, who played a martial arts master in the film, won the honors on Sunday night at the ceremony -- considered a warm-up for the Hong Kong Film Awards on March 27.

Leung won the best actor award for his role in the romance 2046. He beat Sephen Chow, who directed and starred in Kung Fu Hustle, the highest-grossing local film in Hong Kong history. Andy Lau was also nominated for the award for his performance in A World Without Thieves.

Liu got the best actress award for her work in A World Without Thieves. The best-supporting actress prize went to Bai Ling, who starred in the horror film Three ... Extremes: Dumplings. The Bauhinia award is named after Hong Kong's territorial flower. --AP
