Letters of same subject

Perhaps John Fenton and David Jardine can assist with the following strange occurrence.

Whilst having a mega-bite of my osso bucco, I was startled by noting that no less than six letters over two days (all relating to the same subject) were published in response to earlier letters also on the same subject.

During this concurrence, I must have slopped some of the delicious sauce onto the keyboard of my z*?q!:*x!? computer. The consequent virus RAMmed into my Win95 leaving me ROMing aimlessly with a no longer WORDPERFECT aberration I'll call Pin 95.

The normally humane computer program, despite the SMARTDRIVEr operating it, had become re-programmed with the letter P now dominant. It printed the following:

"While we think it's time 'little Peter's' pustulate pustulations hit the porcelain and were flushed from the Post's letters column, it probably won't happen.

"He and the editors have both their pernicious programs and their rights, no matter how bogus the pseudo psychological pillorying being perpetrated.

"However just as there could be no war if no-one turned up to fight, so perhaps "Little Peter" will pack his poisoned pencil and putar belit (nonsense) and then P.O. to the land of Pasta Pronto, if people don't respond to his preposterous pontifications and pompous piffle.......Please!

"Signed Peter Pan, Peter Piper, Peter Rabbit and Peter and the Wolf."

I thinketh my DOS protest too much.

GRAEME ST. JOHN
