Leo to sing the songs of 'krismon'

JAKARTA (JP): Renowned musician and folk singer Leo Kristi will tackle the crisis in song at Gedung Kesenian Jakarta on Saturday and Sunday.

The concert, titled Naga Banda, is named after one of his new songs. It is also the name of the instrument used in the cremation for Balinese kings or royal families.

The word naga means dragon -- a Chinese element -- and banda in Javanese is wealth.

So what does it signify? "It's all up to you how to interpret it," Leo said.

Something is sure. "I will present special repertoire on krismon (monetary crisis)."

The concert is expected to inspire reformists and boost their spirits.

Leo will play both old and new numbers. His music talks not only about the crisis, but also about what is happening around him, as well as love.

He also plans to perform Naga Banda on campuses in the near future. (sim)
