Lawyers want single Asaba case file
JAKARTA: Lawyers of businessman Gunawan Santosa, the prime suspect in the murder case of PT Aneka Sarana Bakti (Asaba) president director Boedyharto Angsono, asked police to compile his dossiers into a single case file for smoother proceedings.
"We can shorten the legal proceedings by compiling the dossiers into one case file," head of Gunawan's legal team, Alamsyah Hanafiah, said on Thursday.
Gunawan is charged with arranging the contract killings of Boedyharto and his bodyguard, Army's Special Forces (Kopassus) Second Sgt. Edy Siyep. Gunawan is also charged with attempted murder against Asaba finance director Paulus Tejakusuma, as well as document fraud.
City Police chief of detectives Sr. Comr. Mathius Salempang said police had completed the first set of dossiers on the murders of Boedyharto and Edy, which would soon be submitted to the Jakarta Prosecutor's Office.
"A single dossier or several will not affect the sentences the charges carry," he said. -- JP
