Landslide damages seven houses

JAMBI: Seven houses in Kampung Baru, Sarolangun regency were severely damaged after a landslide hit the area on Thursday. No fatalities were reported. Fearing further landslides, dozens of residents in the area, located some 250 kilometers west of Jambi city, had taken refuge in safer places.

Chief of Kampung Baru subdistrict, Apriyanto, said that he had reported the incident to the Sarolangun regental administration for follow up. -- JP
