Land title process to be simplified

Procedures for the processing of land titles will be
simplified in an effort to improve the city administration's
services.

The simplification plan was announced on Tuesday by Minister
of Agrarian Affairs/Chairman of the National Land Agency Soni
Harsono and Governor Suryadi Soedirja.

Processing land titles will no longer be time-consuming
because the arduous procedures will be cut, Soni said after
presenting 2,511 land certificates to Jakartans, who were
financially unable to process the titles.

Harsono also presented new forms of titles for collective
ownership of apartments and of lands donated for religious
purposes.

He added that city administration is striving to keep up with
development and planning to process 6,000 land title proposals in
the current 1994/95 fiscal year. (22)
