Land tax arrears reach Rp 2 billion

SEMARANG: At least 52,000 tax payers here have not paid the Tax of Land and Building since 1997, costing the local government Rp 2 billion in losses, an official said Wednesday.

Chief of tax of land and building services, Maezar Anwar, said a team had been formed to collect the tax arrears.

He asked people to pay the tax to appointed offices across the Central Java capital city.

The office is looking at Rp 28.8 billion of revenue from land and building taxes this fiscal year. (har/edt)
