JAKARTA: Starting Monday, the Central Jakarta chapter of the National Land Agency will run a mobile service called Larasita, acronym for the Public Service for Land Certification, in an bid to wipe out illegal fees often occurred in land certificate procedures.

Central Jakarta Mayor Sylviana Murni admitted that it used to be difficult to get a land certificate.

"Every time a resident applied for a certificate, the officers did not clearly explain what was needed, as if purposefully trying to trick them," she said during the launch of the service in Joharbaru on Monday, as quoted by beritajakarta.com.

"The applicants had to return more than twice. It is not a secret anymore that people have to pass several desks and are offered faster service for an extra fee." -JP
