Land agency's clarification

State Minister of Agrarian Affairs/Chairman of the National
Land Agency Soni Harsono has instructed us to make a correction
on the report in the front page of The Jakarta Post of Aug. 29,
1996 under the heading: Beware of politicized land feuds.

The report stated that the minister said he received the list
of NGOs, which claimed to represent the people in land disputes,
from the World Bank.

We would like to clarify the matter as follows: "The State
Minister of Agrarian Affairs did not mention in the interview
that he had got the list of the 65 organizations in question from
the World Bank."
