Lampung to host kite festival

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: At least 250 participants from 13
countries will participate in the four-day Lampung Kite Festival
which starts today.

"Participants from the United States, Australia, France, the
Philippines, Singapore, Japan, the Netherlands, Italy, Austria,
Sweden, Malaysia, and South Korea have confirmed their
participation in the festival," Chairman of the Lampung chapter
of the Indonesian Kite Hobbyists, Anshori Djausal, told Antara on
Saturday.

Anshori said the Lampung festival was part of series of kite
festivals being held in the country this year. An international
Kite Festival at Ancol's Marina beach in North Jakarta ended
yesterday.

Other kite festivals will be held at Pangandaran beach, West
Java (July 8-9), Kebumen, Central Java (July 10-12), and Mount
Bromo, East Java (July 14-15), he said.(imn)
