Lampung has new governor

BANDAR LAMPUNG, Lampung: Minister of Home Affairs Moch. Yogie
SM installed yesterday Oemarsono as Lampung governor replacing
Lt. Gen. (ret.) Poedjono Pranyoto who ended his tenure after
serving two consecutive terms.

The ceremony was held during a special plenary session of the
provincial legislature.

As reported by Antara, Oemarsono, 58, who was born in Sragen,
Central Java, was a former deputy governor of economics and
development.

He served as regent of Wonogiri, Central Java, from 1985 to
1995 before moving to Lampung. (mds)
