Kuwait provides scholarship

AMBON, Maluku: The government of Kuwait, through the Dubai-
based Darul Birr Organization, is offering a scholarship for
Moslem youths wishing to study Arabic at the Muhammadiyah Makasar
University in Ujungpandang, South Sulawesi.

Harun Awad of the university's student body told Antara here
Saturday the organization will pay for the students' tuition for
two years. Maluku residents can apply through the student body's
office at Jl. Sultan Baabullah No. 9 in Ambon.

Those who graduate will be assigned as preachers and imams of
mosques in Eastern Indonesia. (swe)
