Kuripan Raya develops 750-hectare estate in Parung

BOGOR, West Java (JP): PT Kuripan Raya, a private firm developing a housing complex in Parung, West Java, expects to sell between 30 and 40 houses per month, with Jakartans and Bogor residents as the potential buyers, the company's director said.

"We are targeting young urban professionals and young couples as potential buyers," Paul Hartono Adjie told reporters Saturday while visiting Telaga Kahuripan, the company's housing complex in Parung.

Kuripan is a consortium equally owned by five leading companies, comprising the Bimantara, Napan, Dharmala, Kalbe and Duta Putra groups. The company is developing the housing estate on a 750-hectare plot in Parung, which is 12 kilometers from Bogor and 25 kilometers from Jakarta.

Hartono said that since the launching late last year, 900 houses had been sold. "There are 300 houses already constructed. People will have to wait about eight months for the remaining construction to be completed."

Company general manager of marketing, Johannes Tulung, said that Kuripan had so far acquired 500 hectares of land, 371 hectares of which were rubber plantations.

The company has to buy another 250 hectares.

Tulung said that the land prices in the area ranged from Rp 5,000 to Rp 200,000 per meter.

Tulung said the housing complex would be built in stages, with the whole complex being completed in 10 years.

The complex, which competes with more than a dozen other real estates in nearby areas, is promoting its lakes as one of the attractions.

Two natural lakes and some artificial ones are prepared as the complex's landmarks.

Four ministers, comprising State Minister of Public Housing Akbar Tandjung, Minister of Education and Culture Wardiman Djojonegoro, State Minister of Environment Sarwono Kusumaatmadja and Minister of Tourism, Post and Telecommunications Joop Ave, are scheduled to dedicated some of the complex's facilities next Sunday.
