Krisdayanti gets platinum award

JAKARTA (JP): Noted Indonesian singer Krisdayanti and her husband Anang Hermansyah have received a Quadruple Platinum award for the success of their album Cinta (Love).

Sales have already exceeded 600,000 copies.

The award was presented by Sanjaya, a representative of the album's producer Warner Music Indonesia, in a ceremony at Hard Rock Cafe in Central Jakarta Wednesday night.

During the ceremony Anang and Krisdayanti also announced the success of their second album Kasih, which was launched two months ago.

"About 75,000 cassettes of the second album have thus far been sold," Sanjaya said.

The first album, the name of which means love, was produced during the couple's engagement. The second consists of the story of their affection -- the meaning of kasih -- for each other as husband and wife.

"Many aspects of our love story influenced our second album; they are love, fighting, happiness and tears." Anang said.

Love was chosen as the theme for their second album because they said love was universal and people were attracted to it. (27)
