KPU blames police for stolen bike
BEKASI: The Bekasi General Elections Commission (KPU) has
asked South Bekasi subprecinct police chief Adj. Comr. Karna
Tiana to punish those subordinates who were absent without leave
on Saturday, as their irresponsibility led to a motorcycle's
disappearance.
Commission member Benny HS said on Monday that the policemen
who were supposed to guard the KPU office on Saturday were
absent. A motorcycle belonging to commission member Herlambang
Haryosumtomo, which was parked in front of the office, went
missing that very night.
Karna said police were not responsible for guarding the KPU
office around the clock.
"None of my subordinates were stationed at the KPU office;
they were only on patrol in the area," he said. -- JP
